Links & Collaborations

The School has collaborations and networks with other institutions of higher learning and faculties worldwide. Several members of staff members serve as external examiners to various national and international institutions. Internationally based institutions include;

  • Municipality of Villa Rica, Columbia;
  • Mzuzu University, Malawi;
  • University of Newcastle Business school, Australia;
  • University of Nordland, Norway;
  • Indiana University, USA;
  • Lyon II University, France.

Moreover, members of the School have been part of the following projects among others:

  1. SFC GCRF Escalator funded project whose focus is on Exploring methodologies for sustainable models of social, economic and cultural inclusiveness;
  2. Newton Utafiti Foundation funded project which focused on Employment and Human Capacity Development within Sustainable Tourism;
  3. DELPHE, which was funded by British Council/DfID and focused on pro-poor tourism research capacity building and knowledge exchange in East Africa;
  4. EDULINK, funded by EU/EDF, and focused on African-European Academic Alliance for Sustainable tourism development, environmental sustainability and poverty reduction;
  5. EPA, funded by British Council/BIS and focused on pro-poor tourism education partnership network for East Africa and
  6. VICRES, funded by Inter University Council of East Africa.
